I am getting quite tired of all of the complaining that happens within the gaming community. This may be a post that is complaining about complaining, but I don't care. Something needs to change.
So many gamers sit at their homes, looking for something to get pissed about. Whether its someone over LIVE, or a gaming company, they seem to need something to complain about. Have you folks forgotten that we live in the greatest countries that have ever been?
We should have nothing to complain about. Just be thankful for what you have, and know that it could be worse. We are also living in the greatest time on Earth to be a gamer. Xbox 360, Wii, PS3, all great systems in their own rights. We should feel privileged to have the freedom to sit at our air conditioned homes, with our cars in the drive way, a Starbucks down the road, and controllers in our hands. Just sit there and game, and be thankful that you can. Life is good my friends. Enjoy it. I enjoy everyday of my life. Sure, you may have heard me complain in a podcast or a forum, but I had forgotten about how great we have it as gamers of today.
Games are getting better narratively, graphically, and gameplay is ramping up with the newer games coming out. So just enjoy what you have folks, and be thankful.
Lets all start talking about the positive more than the negative. I will try my darndest to stay positive (Especially with Sony and Nintendo news :). Its good to have goals, and thats one of mine.
Remember, talking negative only brings the negative. Speaking growth and positivity is how change takes place.

Great post Camaroguy! We have been saying this for a long time but people will continues to do the same crap all over again.
I'm so excited to be a gamer in this community. So many great games and also people that makes this so much fun. Please continue posting more stuff like this and ignore those negative ones. They are just trying to get attention the wrong way.
Take care man :)
Awesome post, dude. Its just sad that most people will never see what you're trying to say. Some are born to whine.
Great Post very well said. i wish all gamers felt the way you do. it is sad to see people in the gaming community not enjoying it and always complaining about something.
Dude, nice post. The amount of complaining is rediculous on xbl.
I agree, this is starting to get ridiculous. Good read
Camaroguy579 there is a lot that you don't know about that happens in the community.
And even for those that do get pissed off, good for them, they have a right to.(Gamerandy is really a good guy, if you actually knew him in person you would think so too. He has made a couple bad choices in the way he has handled things, but really, who hasn't at some time?)
When I said today that I didn't care that a video was on inside xbox i meant it. I really don't care. I did however get annoyed to see the words "Major Accomplishment for the gaming community". Thats a joke. Nothing about that video was about the gaming community. It was an infomercial for a Xbox Live game(one that i heard was good) and then talkingaboutgames was given a plug.
What I brought up is I don't feel talkingaboutgames is part of the "real" gaming community, and the only reason it was plugged is because the spouse of one of the major staff members works for Microsoft. This is the same way I feel about GCN. I have never hide this.
Does that make me jealous? I don't see how it would. I'm just pointing out the fact that you can not be for the gamer when you have an obvious bias.
If my wife worked for Nintendo, Sony or Microsoft there is no way I would be able to say anything negative about them. I wouldn't be able to point out the flaws in what they do. And at the same time I would also expect and most likely receive a little special treatment.
This is what is going on and this what I pointed out.
That does not make me jealous or negative, that makes me informed and that was what I was trying to pass on.
What makes things negative is when you get a little puss(I do dislike a special someone quite a bit because I can see through his fakeness, and no I'm not "hating" on him) and turns this around into something negative as he has done many times. Thats when everything turns negative.
Why is it that every time a special someone gets thrown into the mix everyone else is jealous and hating? You wanna know why? Its because that is what he wants you to perceive. No one hates on him and you wanna know why? Its because outside his little circle everything thinks he is a joke, like it or not, it is the truth. MS doesn't care because they know he is in there pocket and no matter what, he will always do what they tell him to.
All that goes into my only issue that I see, communities that are too influenced by big companies because of there closeness with them and then deceiving there followers by telling them they are for the gamers when in all actuality they are not.
You probably won't agree with what I said, and its fine, I understand. But sit back and look at things from a distance and slowly but surly you will notice the same trend over and over again.
The same clics being recognizes and its for the same reasons. Its not because they are better then other communities its because of close ties for one reason or another and to keep those ties they have to keep the boss, in this case MS, happy (or just marry one of them).
Sorry if you took this as negative, I promise you it was not suppose to be this way. And despite what your going to hear on your next favorite podcast, nobody is actually "hating" on anyone, nor is anyone jealous because its not us up there for download. If it was Real community that was actually for gamers by gamers I would have been pumped for this, unfortantly this was not the case.
"What I brought up is I don't feel talkingaboutgames is part of the "real" gaming community, and the only reason it was plugged is because the spouse of one of the major staff members works for Microsoft. This is the same way I feel about GCN. I have never hide this."
But Steve. I want you to try and understand things from others perspective. The show that you are on pretty much only talks about alcohol. How is that being a 'Leader' in the gaming community?
SO WHAT if Nelson works for Msoft and Natalie is Nelson's girl. That is excellent for them! What's wrong with being positive about their position and congratulating them?
Can't you just keep doing your thing and don't try and bring down other's work??
actually we don't talk "mostly" about alcohol. We also throw in a lot of dick jokes. On our last show we might have spent more time talking about that then drinks.
I do the gamers pub for fun. Its a nice way to unwind.
And do I consider myself a "leader" in the gaming community?
No, not really. I'm the Editor-in-Chief for a small and new site called platformnation.com We have only have around 25k+ listeners between all the shows and we only get around 55k+ pageviews a month. That is nothing, nothing at all. We are nothing more then a minuscule slice of the gaming pie. I'm happy with that because where the people i know hang out. Thats where the people that are not blind to what is going on are. They see this, they tell me this, and I'm lucky enough to pass it on.
If you don't like my show nor like what I say, just don't follow me. I'm cool with that.
I'm just as often positive as i am negative, thats me, thats who I am. If you want the good, take the bad.
I don't want the bad with the good. Especially when the bad outweighs the good. Why not change 'who I am' and try and be more positive?
It's not about how many listeners or page views. It's about the community and not knocking what the next guy/girl is saying because you disagree.
You discredit yourself when you comment about what Natalie and Nelson are doing by making jackass comments about her intentions.
Your comments about Godfree are absurd as well. You think he's in everyone's pocket? Why because he busts his ass trying to make things happen for Gamertag Radio? I've known him personally for over a year and a half and know he does what he does for the love of gaming and its corresponding community.
We all do this because we're blessed to be able to openly discuss our opinions in Public with no fear of recrimination. You are entitled to yours as well, but when you and your cronies openly blast others for no reason... that's messed up.
Corporate politics are getting to us here.
@Steve- "If my wife worked for Nintendo, Sony or Microsoft there is no way I would be able to say anything negative about them"
Really? You're that much of a tool that you wouldn't be able to speak your mind? There are plently of shows with people extremely close to these companies and they bash them just the same. It's how you do it that matters.
I will agree that plugging Talkingaboutgames over live is a bit unfair, considering its a new site and now 10 million people have collectively been told to go visit, but still there's a lot that goes on behind the scenes in order to get to the point where things like this happen.
Microsoft didn't just tell Nelson to pimp his significant other's website, that would be absurd. There was hard work that had to be done, and after all they did over the last year, it's deserved.
I don't think that they should pimp the site everytime a new episode airs though, once is enough. The segment is Nelson's, and thus should be focused on promoting GSB, like Trixie's CC promotes Xbox.com.
I think that they should be able to promote TalkingAboutGames.com as much as they want. Natalie has a wonderful outlet to do so, and its the site that SHE is affiliated with as Nelson is affiliated to Gamerscore Blog.
If I were sitting beside Nelson on there, wouldn't it be expected that you would hear a Gamer's Garage plug?
I am just having difficulty understanding why when someone in our community does good, they are reprimanded for such, and drama like this ensues.
Can't we just be happy for our fellow community members, no matter what they do? Its their thing, so let them do it.
wanna hug? Will that make you feel better? So you never said what I did this time, I'm actaully a bit curious because not everone says "I have now officially un-followed Steve519. Guy is a stain, a scab in the community" That was actually a little flattering.
The community has now grown and gotten better since I unfollowed you on Twitter...
Steve, you forget all the good stuff Nelson and Natalie did before Nelson got his MS job.
You come off like a jealous tool, complaining about the success of others around you. It's ugly and it makes you look asinine.
I don't know you and I hope to never know you, because my first impression of you is that of a douchebag.
This is video games, not politics, medicine or life or death.
Fricking video games.
Get over yourself. Nuff said.
